What Nefertiti lift for neck bands treats

  • Vertical bands on the front of the neck
  • A jawline that has lost its edge

How Nefertiti lift for neck bands works

The platysma is a thin sheet of muscle in the neck. With age its edges can form vertical bands, and it pulls down on the jaw. Small injections along the bands and the jawline relax it, so the bands soften and the jawline looks clearer. The name comes from the long, defined neck of the Egyptian queen.

How many units of Dysport for a Nefertiti lift?

Usually 65 to 90 units, depending on how many bands there are and how strong they are. At a per-unit clinic this is one of the most expensive areas. At SoulShine it is $250 with the full dose.

Is Dysport approved for this?

Dysport is FDA-approved for frown lines. Using it here is off-label, which is common practice for this area. Your injector explains this at your consultation.

How the appointment goes

At your first visit we go through your medical history and look at your face at rest and while you move it. If you want treatment the same day, we clean the skin, offer ice, and place a few small injections. It takes minutes. You book a check at two weeks before you leave.

Risks, and who should not have it

Less common: a sore neck or, rarely, some difficulty swallowing for a few weeks. Call us if you have any trouble swallowing.

Common: small bumps at the injection points for an hour, a mild headache, a small bruise.

Do not have Dysport if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to cow’s milk protein, have a neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis or ALS, or have an infection where you would be treated.

To limit bruising, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E and alcohol for 3 to 5 days before, unless a doctor has told you to take them.

Aftercare

After Dysport at SoulShine, stay upright and keep your hands off your face for 4 hours, skip exercise for 24 hours and strong heat for 72. The full result shows at about two weeks. Read the full aftercare instructions

Questions people ask

Why one price per area instead of per unit?

So the price does not decide the dose. Your injector uses the dose the area needs, and the price for the area stays the same.
