Who makes Botox, and who makes Dysport?

  • Botox Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is made by Allergan Aesthetics, part of AbbVie since 2020. It was FDA-approved for frown lines in 2002, crow’s feet in 2013, forehead lines in 2017 and neck bands in 2024. Allergan’s patient rewards program is called Allē.
  • Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) was developed by Ipsen and is made available for aesthetic use in the United States by Galderma, a dermatology company founded in 1981. It was FDA-approved for frown lines in 2009. Galderma’s patient rewards program is ASPIRE Galderma Rewards.

Why does SoulShine use Dysport instead of Botox?

One product for every area means our injectors work with the dosing they know best, and it lets us set one clear price per area. Dysport often starts working in 2 to 3 days.

Can I have Dysport if I have had Botox before?

Yes, many people switch. Tell your injector when you were last treated and where. The effect of mixing different brands during one course of treatment is not known, so your injector times your first Dysport treatment for when the last one has worn off.

Will Dysport feel different from Botox?

Most people notice no difference in the result. Dysport is measured in its own units, so the dose is a different number, and the two cannot be compared unit for unit.

What does it cost compared with Botox nearby?

Clinics near Alpharetta charge about $11 to $13 per unit of Botox, so a frown-line treatment at the 20-unit Botox label dose is about $220 to $260 there. At SoulShine, frown lines with Dysport are one price for the area with the full dose. Every area and price is on our prices page.

How SoulShine keeps the cost down

  • One price per area, full dose included. The dose your injector chooses never changes the bill, and there is no minimum.
  • Galderma ASPIRE savings on top. Until December 31, 2026, new ASPIRE members get $50 toward their first Dysport treatment for frown lines, and every qualifying treatment earns points toward later visits. See Galderma ASPIRE Rewards at SoulShine.
  • No membership fee. Some clinics nearby only offer their lowest prices with a monthly membership.

Important Safety Information

Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription injection approved for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults under 65. The other areas treated at SoulShine Aesthetics are off-label uses.

Distant spread of toxin effect. The effects of Dysport and all botulinum toxin products may spread from the injection area to other parts of the body, hours to weeks after injection. Symptoms can include loss of strength, muscle weakness, double or blurred vision, drooping eyelids, trouble swallowing or speaking, loss of bladder control and trouble breathing. Swallowing and breathing problems can be life threatening, and there have been reports of death. Get medical help right away if you have any of these symptoms.

Do not have Dysport if you are allergic to any botulinum toxin product or its ingredients, are allergic to cow’s milk protein, or have an infection where it would be injected. Dysport is not recommended during pregnancy or for children.

Units of Dysport cannot be compared with or converted into units of any other botulinum toxin product.

Tell your injector about all the medicines you take, especially antibiotics given by injection, muscle relaxants and allergy, cold or sleep medicines, about any other botulinum toxin treatment you have had, and about any muscle or nerve condition.

The most common side effects include nose and throat irritation, headache, pain or a reaction at the injection site, upper respiratory infection, eyelid swelling or drooping, sinus inflammation and nausea. Dry eye can occur after treatment of frown lines.

You are encouraged to report side effects of prescription drugs to the FDA at www.fda.gov/medwatch or 1-800-FDA-1088.
