How Dysport works

Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a neuromodulator: a purified protein that relaxes the specific muscle it is placed in. Relaxed muscles fold the skin less, so lines soften, and fewer new lines set in over time.

Why SoulShine charges per area

Dysport is measured in its own units, and most clinics charge for each one. We charge one price for each area and use the dose that area needs. The typical dose is listed beside each price so you can compare with clinics that charge per unit of Dysport.

Is Dysport FDA-approved?

Yes. Dysport is FDA-approved for frown lines in adults. The other areas on this page are common off-label uses, and each area page says so.

How the appointment goes

At your first visit we go through your medical history and look at your face at rest and while you move it. If you want treatment the same day, we clean the skin, offer ice, and place a few small injections. It takes minutes. You book a check at two weeks before you leave.

How our pricing works, and every price in one place

Risks, and who should not have it

Common: small bumps at the injection points for an hour, a mild headache, a small bruise.

Do not have Dysport if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to cow’s milk protein, have a neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis or ALS, or have an infection where you would be treated.

To limit bruising, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E and alcohol for 3 to 5 days before, unless a doctor has told you to take them.

Aftercare

After Dysport at SoulShine, stay upright and keep your hands off your face for 4 hours, skip exercise for 24 hours and strong heat for 72. The full result shows at about two weeks. Read the full aftercare instructions

Questions people ask

Will my face look frozen?

No. Dysport is dosed and placed to soften lines while your face keeps its expressions. Most people are told they look rested.

How long does Dysport take to work?

Lines start to soften in 2 to 3 days. The full result shows at about two weeks.

How long does Dysport last?

3 to 4 months on average. Metabolism, exercise and the area treated all change how long it lasts.

Does it hurt?

Most people describe a small pinch. We use very fine needles, and ice is available.

Why one price per area instead of per unit?

So the price does not decide the dose. Your injector uses the dose the area needs, and the price for the area stays the same.
